consent this petition is disposed of, by directing the Respondents to act in
accordance with law, improve monitoring and surveillance at E.H.T theft hot spots
across the city as far as possible and to take prompt action in that regard in
accordance with law. Further direct the Respondents to lodge FIRs in respect of
cognizable offences promptly and in accordance with law. The Respondents shall
as far as possible, increase patrolling in the areas pointed out by the
petitioner and to take all possible steps to prevent theft of E.H.T wires, in that
regard the Respondents may consult with the petitioner. As regards pending
cases/ FIRs, the Respondents shall expedite investigation so that effective
prosecution may be carried out.
The
petition alongwith pending applications stands disposed of in the foregoing
terms with direction to the petitioner to provide full lawful assistance to the
Respondents in their above endeavour.
