FAISAL ARAB, J. The petitioner was appointed lecturer on adhoc basis by Vice Chancellor, Shah Abdul Latif University, Khairpur. Thereafter, applications for appointment on permanent bassis were invited and the appointments were processed by the Selection Board in which the petitioner was considered. Respondents 4 and 5 were appointed but the petitioner was not appointed as according to Selection Board respondents 4 and 5 were higher on merit list for the two vacant posts.

Learned counsel for the petitioner states that the Commissioner appointed by this court in his report has annexed marks obtained by each candidate and for the subject of general knowledge, respondents Nos. 4 & 5 were given 08 and 09 marks whereas the maximum marks for general knowledge were only 07 marks.

From this we find that proper marking was not done. The learned counsel for the respondent University acknowledges the fact that there are some vacant posts and petitioner’s application will be considered afresh by the Selection Board if he applies for the same.

Let the petitioner apply afresh. The Selection Board shall then keeping in view his past performance as adhoc lecturer and the marks that he is going to obtain in the written test and viva voce may consider him for appointment as a permanent lecturer against the vacant posts along with any other candidates who may have also applied for such posts. We are conscious of the fact that the process of Selection Board may take some time. Therefore, keeping in view past services of the petitioner to the Institution that he was already working as adhoc lecturer, he may be considered for employment on such basis against the vacant post till Selection Board finally completes the process of selection.

With these directions, this petition stands disposed of.
