Irshad Ahmed, Executive Engineer, Mirpur Division is present and states that bed profile is higher than the sanctioned level, and therefore, he will take steps to bring the bed profile to the original sanctioned level which will facilitate water to the petitioner’s lands. He further states that he will take all necessary steps to reduce the size of the watercourse, that has been tampered by the Zamindars without any lawful authority, which has resulted in reduce supply of water to the petitioner’s lands. He submits that in order to avoid any law and order situation, he may require Police assistance.
Let the bed profile be brought to the sanctioned level and the needful be done with regard to tampering of watercourses and in case, Police assistance is requires, the same shall be provided by the concerned Police. Let the copy of this order be dispatched to SHO, Salephat.
Counsel for the petitioner is satisfied and does not press the contempt application, which is accordingly disposed of.
