The petitioner was appointed as Sweeper, vide order dated 03-12-2007. He, then, joined his service on 07-12-2007 as Sweeper in the Govt. Girls Middle School, Main Project, Pano Akil. Subsequently, vide order dated 29-04-2008, services of 48 employees including the petitioner were terminated on the ground that the Chief Minister has decided that the assignment of Sweeper could not be entrusted to a Muslim, as it is contrary to the injunctions of Islam. Resultantly, on the basis of such order, he was relieved from his duties on 29-05-2008.

In view of this statement, the petitioner has become entitled for salary from 07-12-2007 to 29-05-2008. Let such salary be paid to the petitioner within a period of two months. In case, the petitioner is aggrieved with regard to the discontinuation of his service on the ground that he could not have been relieved from service on the decision of the Chief Minister, he shall be free to take appropriate legal steps.

The petition stands disposed of in the above terms.
