In terms of order dated 01.08.2024,
Additional Inspector General of Police Sindh was directed to conduct
inquiry/probe into the matter and if it is proved that SHO PS Gizri and other police officials are guilty then appropriate
action shall be taken against them in accordance with law. Today, Additional
Inspector General of Police Sindh (Legal) Karachi Range has furnished
compliance report, which reveals that, “during course of enquiry, it has been
established that investigation of case FIR No.348/2024, under sections 342,
371-, 372-B, 34, PPC was not conducted properly by the concerned IO, instead of
utilizing the evidence, IO deliberately wasted all the evidence and conducted
defective investigation and also effected the investigation with intention of
providing benefit to the accused.”
Inspector General of Police Sindh is directed not to post the IO of FIR
No.348/2024 in the Investigation Branch in future.
Additional Inspector General of
Police Sindh (Legal) submits that applicant Tanveer Murad was not involved in any misconduct. In view of such
position, counsel for applicant submits that the grievance of applicant has
been redressed, therefore, he does not press the
instant criminal miscellaneous application, which is accordingly dismissed.
However, police officials concerned are directed to act strictly in accordance
with law.
