Through
the instant Criminal Miscellaneous Application, the Applicant/accused Shahid
Mehmood seeks reduction of the surety amount. It appears that bail application
was moved on behalf of the applicant/accused before the learned Special Court
(Offences in Banks) Sindh at Karachi in Case No. 48/2011. Bail was granted to
the applicant/accused in the sum of Rs.14,00,000/- with P.R bond in the like
amount. Thereafter, it was reduced to Rs.500,000/- vide order dated 09.01.2015.
2. Application
is moved mainly on the ground that bail has been granted to the
applicant/accused on 31st October 2014 and applicant/accused has
failed to furnish surety.
3. Mr.
Saeed Ahmed standing counsel recorded no objection, if surety amount is reduced
to some reasonable extend.
4. Keeping
in view the above stated circumstances, surety amount from Rs.500,000/- is
reduced to Rs.400,000/-. Order dated 09.01.2015 is modified to that extent.
However subject to the satisfaction of the trial Court.
The
instant Criminal Misc. Application stands disposed of.
