          The petitioner alleges that the drainage water and sanitation in the City of Gambat and other parts of Khairpur district are in a destruct, causing environmental degradation despite a huge budget being sanctioned and ostensibly utilized for such purpose. He submits that the amount so sanctioned and utilized are being usurped and misappropriated and whilst the petitioner and other residents are approaching the concerned authorities for redressal of the grievance, no proper action is being taken. In that backdrop the directions be issued to the respondents to ensure necessary action and that the record of funds for preceding Five years be called so as to funds are properly utilization.

          We have observed that nothing has been filed alongwith petition to indicate that to any approach has been made to the respondent in the matter. Furthermore, if the grievance of petitioner is that the environmental degradation, the appropriate course of action would be for the matter for Sindh Environmental Protection Agency, which is not even made a party to these proceedings. Additionally, as regard the request for information, the appropriate cause of action would be to invoke the procedure provided under the Sindh Transparency and Right to Information Act, 2016. Whereafter, the petitioner may bring any proof of corruption to the notice of the concerned Anti-Corrupt Agency, however, if so desire.
