The petitioner being medical officer by way of instant petition has sought for direction against the respondents to consider him for promotion. On being asked, it was stated by him that he has since retired from civil service. If it is so, then direction sought for by the petitioner for his promotion after his retirement could not be issued by this Court that too in exercise of its constitutional jurisdiction. Consequently, the instant petition being misconceived is dismissed in limine together with listed application.
