Ms. Samina Maqsood, Law Officer, NADRA, files a statement dated 26.08.2021, which is taken on record and copy already supplied to learned counsel for the petitioner. The statement reads as under:-

“It is respectfully submitted that the petitioner wants to obtain fresh CNIC. However, for fresh application as well as issuance of CNIC, the petitioner has to adopt the procedure mentioned in NADRA Registration Policy 5.0.2. According to that policy, the petitioner has to fulfill all codal formalities and ensure appearance of parents or sibling for biometric verification which are mandatory requirements. In case failure to fulfill the codal formalities, the process for fresh CNIC is not possible. (The copy of NADRA Registration Policy 5.0.2. is annexed as ‘A’.)

Therefore, it is requested to this Hon’able Court may be pleased to dispose of the petition in the light of NADRA SOP 5.0.2 and direct the petitioner to approach any nearest NADRA center.”

                Learned counsel for the petitioner, after going through the contents of the aforesaid statement, being satisfied, seeks disposal of the petition in terms thereof. Order accordingly.
