Mr.
Manzoor Hussain Larik files vakalatnama
on behalf of respondents-University.
All
learned counsel have agreed that the admission policy include 5% advocates’
sons and daughters quota in LL.B
programme be it for three years or five years. Mr.
Manzoor Hussain Larik, learned counsel appearing for
the University recognized the advocates’ son quota. He concedes that he would
be presenting the merit list as well as the list of the advocates’ sons and
daughters. Under the scheme of admission, the respective colleges were supposed
to send the two lists; first list in respect of merit of the students whereas
the other in respect of the advocates’ sons and daughters and amongst them also
a merit is to be maintained. Such lists and process were required to be
tendered and completed within cutoff date and in accordance with law, including
but not limited to Rule 4 of Pakistan Bar Council Legal Education Rules 2015
which is claimed to be regulatory authority for all the Law Colleges in
Pakistan. Had it been done by the colleges, the
University may consider it in accordance with law while recognizing the
advocates’ son quota. While maintaining the admission policy of sons / daughters quota of the advocates, the guideline as provided
by Hon'ble Supreme Court including the cutoff date should also be taken into
consideration.
Both
petitions and listed application stand disposed of in the above terms
