For hearing of main case
14.02.2019
Mr.
Asadullah Khand advocate for petitioner.
Mr.
Safdar Kamal Ansari advocate for respondent-NADRA.
Mr.
Ali Raza Pathan, Assistant Attorney General.
.................
This
matter pertains to the CNIC of the petitioner which
was blocked by NADRA. It is claimed that other family
members of the petitioner were issued CNIC. Though
the CNIC of other family members of the petitioner
were not blocked, however, surprisingly, while the CNIC
of the petitioner was expired in July, 2016, it was, at the time of re-issuance
of CNIC, it was blocked. The NADRA
officials claim that they need certain information from the petitioner as such
he may appear before the concerned officials of NADRA
and present certain credentials / national status whereafter the CNIC of the petitioner may be processed. In case he is unable
to file any related documents in support of CNIC
which was earlier issued, his case may be referred to the Agencies for
verification and it may consume some time.
Although
in the presence of the CNIC which was earlier issued
to the petitioner and also the CNIC of the other
family members, he should not have been asked to discharge this burden,
however, to streamline process since previously a number of CNICs
were issued without verification, he may appear before the concerned officials
of NADRA, responsible for the issuance of CNIC and present all related documents in case he is in
possession thereof, failing whereof the matter may be referred, as desired by
the NADRA officials to the Agencies for the
verification of the credentials / national status of the petitioner. It is
expected that the process may not take more than two months.
Petition stands disposed
of in the above terms.
